On Line Proofing

Client Galleries

On line viewing is great, particularly when clients wish to share pictures with family or friends living elsewhere.

Please keep these items in mind when viewing pictures from your computer:

  • Think of computer images as the "proof" prints of the past. As you recall,  the photographer used to,( and some still do), give you  those little pieces of paper printed with an unfinished picture to make choices. Now days, fine art portrait photographers project their work big and bold for close scrutiny.  More on the studio presentation later.
  • Images viewed online are monitor dependent and will only look as good as your monitor allows.
  • Like the "proof" prints of old, monitor images are unfinished and much smaller image files than the final image files uploaded to my lab in Akron Ohio. Typically, I will only process the monitor picture with the first of several enhancements that ultimately become the final picture file.  At the risk of getting too "techy",  the digital picture you see on your monitor will be only corrected for  dynamic range known as  "levels", skin tone and color known as "hue and saturation",", and contrast known as curves. The special retouching, filters and enhancements that create "fine art portraiture" are labor intensive and very precise. Those are the special enhancements that make your work a custom piece of art and are only performed on the pictures you wish to purchase.
  • Client images are password protected and not available for viewing by the general public. The password to your images are given only to you. Once your images are on line, you are free and encouraged to give the password to anyone you wish. Please understand that passwords will not be given to your friends or family over the phone. I got in trouble once from a bride's father when I wouldn't divulge her password. I was still a "@#$%%$^"!, even after I explained he wasn't on the contract. I don't know why he didn't understand my Privacy Policy because it's real simple: UNLESS PRESENTED A SUBPOENA BY SOMEONE WITH A GUN, RFP does not share client information with anyone. Period! Didn't need a high price lawyer to write that one - shouldn't need a high price lawyer to understand it... but I digress.
  • Online ordering is secure. Your encrypted information is downloaded from a secure website directly to my secure work station. No one has access to your information but me.
  • Finally, all my work carries my No Risk Guarantee. Simply put, if you are not thrilled with your pictures, I will return all of your money.

Its worth a phone call to RFP when you are seeking a photographer. There you have it; some free value added services, free consultations with absolutely no obligation, and a no risk guarantee that returns all of your money if you are not thrilled with your pictures.
